James Bay Community Project is a non-profit community organization helping seniors, youth and families by providing counselling services, community support and volunteer services. JBCP has several tenants providing services to the community: the Victoria Health Co-operative, LifeLabs, HerWay Home and other independent providers of health services.

Program Update

Baby Group

A new baby group will be starting January 5th – March 9th. Thursdays at 12:30pm in the Family Centre.

The Baby Group is for new mothers and their babies up to the age of about 7 months (or once they start crawling).  This free 10-week group runs two to three times per year. Topics covered include:  joys & challenges, nutrition, car seat safety, baby growth and development, etc.  It’s a friendly relaxed group that offers support, fun and friendship.

Learn easy ways to add healthy food to your life. Monday February 6th, 2017

Learn easy ways to add healthy food to your life in this casual and interactive session. Topics include:

* Best Way to End the Day

Postural Stretching

Postural Stretching is taking a break  in the new year. The last day for this class will be January 9th, 2017. It will resume March13, 2017.

Men’s Exploration Group

Dates/Time to be determined once 6 people are registered.

A structured group to explore and share your experiences of being male: What’s it like now? What was it like in the past? What are the challenges at different stages of our lives? How does it feel to be a man? What expectations are put on us? Please note that this will be a closed committed group so that we can maintain a comfortable and confidential environment for the participants for the six sessions.Dates/Time to be determined once 6 people are registered.

The cost of this group is $3.00 per session (if you are a current JBCP or CCV volunteer this group is free)
