Our Community Library operates under a partnership agreement with the City of Victoria and the Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL). The City of Victoria provides funding while GVPL loans JBCP a selection of approximately 500 books. Loaned materials are rotated about 2 times a year to ensure a continuous flow of new items. The library also contains about 2500 donated materials from the community such as hard cover books, paperbacks, DVD’s, audio materials and youth and children’s books. 45 dedicated volunteers cover 30 hours of weekly shifts as well as assisting with extra duties such processing donations, tracking down overdue materials and record keeping. On average 450 patrons visit the library monthly.
Our library is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
We have 2 public access computer stations that are available Monday – Friday 8 am – 4 pm in our lobby. Computers can be used for up to an hour a day on a first come, first served sign up basis and there is no cost. Computer printing is 10c a page.
